Looking ahead

A path shaped by families.

Our roadmap starts in Canberra. These phases describe ambitions, with progress depending on community support, funding and local demand.

Canberra first

Canberra is home to our first Open Source Learning Centre, with services beginning on 4 July 2026.

Grow through community

The Community Organisation supports outreach, family connections and future centres. Its membership is separate from centre membership; check the community page for current offers and terms.

First six months · build the foundations

Grow the Canberra community, begin an entrepreneurship programme and develop AI learning tools.

One year · establish and refine

Work towards charity formation, further centres, simpler operating procedures and testing the learning tools.

Two years · expand access

Aim to support self-sustaining centres, new free facilities where needed and wider access to learning tools.

Five years · help communities start locally

Help families organise local demand, find premises and recruit mentors, with an ambition to fund centres internally.

Challenges and our response

Awareness, confidence, commitment, enough local families, staffing and momentum need sustained work. Outreach, transparent funding explanations, local events, mentor guidance and regular updates are part of the plan.

A long-term aim

Our long-term ambition is to form a charity and work towards free facilities by 2035.
